Savor the Light, Sleep Deeper
Late August is a bit sneaky.
The sun still warms your skin, but the mornings feel slower, the nights a little cooler, and there’s change riding on the breeze.
We’re on the verge of my favorite month of summer -September!
September brings a shift. It pulls us away from the carefree (yet ridiculously busy) season of summer and nudges us toward new routines.
It’s also a chance to dial in habits that support our health before the days get shorter and the nights get longer.
Sleep, for example, is often in short supply over the summer -especially if you’re wrestling with night sweats, hot flashes, or insomnia. So before you dive headfirst into the next hustle, I invite you to pause and give your sleep some love.
After all, it is the magic elixir of life (for more reasons than I can fit here).
And the good news? Your body is asking for something simple: light + grounding.
☀️ Morning light sets your circadian rhythm, making it easier to fall, and stay, asleep.
👣 Bare feet on the ground? That’s not just poetic. That’s nervous-system magic.
It might sound a little woo-woo, but it’s actually science. Morning light helps reset your sleep rhythm. Bare feet on grass calms your nervous system faster than a late-night scroll on TikTok (or YouTube).
So before you start doom-scrolling or chugging coffee like it’s a competitive sport, give this a try:
✨ Simple Shift:
Spend 5–10 minutes outside. Barefoot if you can swing it.
If you’re at work, take your first break in the sun instead of your inbox.
Because sometimes the best sleep aid isn’t in a bottle.
It’s literally under your feet.
Question for you: Where did rest, or a little unexpected joy, sneak up on you this week? Hit reply ~ I’d love to hear. Better yet, try this simple shift and send me your barefoot selfie.

That’s the memo. Short. Doable. Sent with love.
Until next time ~

P.S. I’m so excited to be hosting a workshop this September in Michigan’s beautiful Copper Country - in Houghton! There’s still room for a couple more women - so if you’ll be in the area on September 19th, click the link to secure your spot! Or send this to the friend that could use it.
I’ve also got fall workshops coming up through Dassel-Cokato Community Education - more on those in the next memo!
And if you'd love a workshop in your area (or virtually!) hit reply! Let’s chat and make it happen.
